This song, Infinifold, haunts me.

And no one talked the whole way home
everybody just stared at the road
and i rolled down my window
and leaned out leaned out
and watched the lights
And I can't believe it took me this long to figure out what to do with the bubble wrap i've already used for stamping! Duh!

SiStv Book Challenge #1: Fierce!
I am a child of the 80s and used to frequent gay dance clubs so "lookin' fierce" was the first phrase that jumped into my mind when i read this challenge to use the word Fierce in a layout.
AND i finally got to start scrapbooking some of my old high school/early college photos!
AND can i just say I have the best mom ever who used to insist on taking pictures of me before i left the house saying "some day I'll want to show my grandkids what I looked like"

I love this layout -I think it may be one of the most beautiful I've ever done. I'd been planning it for about 2 months but of course it turned out almost nothing like i planned! :D
All I know is I wanted to mimic the postcard from the show but with lots of texture. And to make it, of course, shine like the band's music.

It's the Sun: LJ Challenge
This layout I did for the LiveJournal Group Scrapbookers September Challenge. It was to lift a non-scrapbook page.

I wasn't going to do this at first because the last couple of weeks I've really been getting into experimenting and doing my own thing, and i thought being confined by someone elses design was not what i wanted right now, but I came across these pictures I had taken almost 10 years ago of a sunrise and thought to myself "i want to scraplift the sunrise!"
I don't think i did it justice, but I had fun playing.
So the background is supposed to be the sunrise (taken from the photos at the bottom) done with tissue paper, acrylic paint and scrapbook paper.

"Today i was doing bicep curls with 10 pound weights. As the reps were getting harder, I realized that 3 months ago every day I was lifting that same 20 pounds out of bed, off the couch, walking it ... that 20 pounds seems kinda heavy - hopefully I'll only be lifting it in dumbell form for the rest of my life."

I kinda went the other way with the word - making a not classicly perfect layout, make it look rather deconstructed and fragmented, if that makes sense. But i love it - i just look at it and see things i don't even remember doing! all the different layers and materials/textures created something perfect to me :)

somehow i lost 2 pounds this week. my eyes nearly popped out of their socket when the scale stopped on 155. I'm back baby, I'm BACK!

This was my horoscope for the day. I thought it was profound and inspiring!
I love this card - more experimenting with tissue and acrylic, but also i did package tape transfer with the text and sandwiched wet paint between the paper and the tape!
My other 2 current favorite embellishments are the net fabric and eucaplyptic leaves.
